Died of a CANCER
July 29th, 1793
In the 70th Year
of his Age

North Burial Ground, Warren, Rhode Island

Jeremiah Brown was born 22 August 1723 in Swansea, Massachusetts, the son of Esek Brown and Mercy Carr, and twin to Daniel.  He married Rebeckah Miller on 1 May 1746 in Swansea. He is buried to the left of his wife and in front of his son, Samuel Miller Brown.  He is the great grandson of Chad Browne of Rhode Island through Chad's son, James.  Chad immigrated to New England in 1638.

I conducted in-depth research on this particular Brown family.  Some of my findings were presented in the webinar "Brick Walls: Cracking the Case of Nathan Brown's Parents."

    I am looking for my grandfather's family. He was one of two boys born to Jeremiah Brown, a podiatrist, in the Massachusetts or Rhode Island area. My grandfather, Ernest Jewel Brown, was abandoned with his brother after the father had some marital problems, and both boys became wards of the state of Massachusetts. My grandfather never found his brother after they were separated, and after many years he located his father and went to see him, only to find that he had died a few weeks earlier. His father had two sisters living in Providence, I think. Would love to hear from anyone who has information about any of them. Thanks. Mary Brown

    Hi Marian, I presume you are still here! The above says you conducted extensive research on this particular Brown family. One of the children of this Jeremiah and his wife was another Jeremiah Brown, b. 1753 at Swansea. I am seeking a connection with the Jeremiah Brown buried in the Lincoln Cemetery at Castleton, Vermont, dates supposedly 1756-1813. Jeremiah born to this couple is one of my top candidates for the Vermont burial right now. I wonder if you found anything along this line that would help simplify my work? Meanwhile, I will soon have some Y-DNA data pertinent to the Vermont guy. Can we correspond a bit?
