Many of my Stocking ancestors lived in the Hartford area, so seeing this makes me wonder if their paths crossed, if they knew each other, if their wives were friends. So many things we wish we could know about them.
I just realized I could, should've left names, George Stocking, born abt 1582, Suffolk, England, became part of Thomas Hooker's party, helped found Hartford, CT, then his son Deacon Samuel and wife Bethia Hopkins, then his son George Stocking, 20 Feb 1663/64 and wife Elizabeth, then Samuel Stocking, died 1772 in Chatham, CT, m'd to Abiah Boardman, then Elijah Stocking, died 18 Jul 1807 in Chatham, CT, m'd to Hannah Shepherd, then John Stocking, New York, and on down to my family, who came to Kansas. Sorry if this went on too long, but I thought just maybe you or one of your Connecticut readers might be family.
